(WHO), “Health policy refers to decisions, plans, and actions that are undertaken to achieve specific health care goals within a society. An explicit health policy can achieve several things: it defines a vision for the future which in turn helps to establish targets and points of reference for the short and medium term. It outlines priorities and the expected roles of different stakeholders; and it builds consensus and informs people.” (WHO, 2020)
The Australian Government has developed health care policies which can impact nursing.
The purpose of this assessment is for you to engage with contemporary health policy/s which impact on nursing and the health care system.

Choose a current national health policy that has been presented in this unit and,
 describe your chosen policy, include information such as publisher, edition, goals, target audience
 outline the policy’s vision and short- and medium-term targets.
 explain expected priorities and roles of different stakeholders
 discuss the way(s) this health policy/s impacts on nursing practice
 review the outcome of your chosen policy on the Australian health care system.
