Conceptualising Leadership in Healthcare – Assignment 1: Reflective Practice
This assignment is to be submitted as a reflective statement.
Submission: Critical analysis of your personal leadership approach to a piece of work you have led/ are leading.
Assignment Brief
The task is to produce a self-reflection of your own leadership approach to a piece of work you are leading or have led. You should bring into your paper underpinning theory of leadership, the positioning and role of leaders as you critique your own approach. Use the material you have placed on your e-portfolio and the discussion board to support your analysis. Ensure you demonstrate applied learning by consideration of the observational study you have completed and your self-analysis of your own team working.
All referenced work should be obtained from credible sources such as academic journals and textbooks.
All written work must be in line with Harvard referencing.
Reference lists and any appendices/additional documents will not be included in your final word count.
Grading
This activity will be graded and you will receive feedback on it. The grading of your submission will be based on you demonstrating through a reflective lens the ability to:

- Synthesise the theoretical underpinnings of effective leadership practice and skills 40%
- Critically analysing the nature, role and tasks of leading people 40%
- Ability to apply knowledge to practice influencing behaviour
