Aim of assessment
The aim of this assessment item is to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their evaluation of the role of mental health assessment in a recovery and strengths based approach.

Task
Critically evaluate the recovery and strengths based assessment systems or processes within your place of work. Details
-Evaluation of your workplace (maintaining anonymity of your workplace area) philosophy of care, purpose of service, demographics of the local community and the current assessment practices / approaches.
-Ensure you address both positive and negative aspects of the assessment systems or processes.
Include critique of how the current assessment systems do or could support clients with mental health concerns and their families.
– Highlight any possible developments which could enhance recovery based assessment for people using the service.
Use recent, good quality literature to support your work.

Brief instruction of my work place.
Generally, I work in mental health centre specifically psycho geriatric units from aged between 65 yrs and above. Patient can be admitted either voluntary or involuntary Staff in the ward provide support, monitoring and education to the pts. Through conselling, psycho-education and information about mental illness recovery which base ob pts. Centre approach.
Also, staff ensure pts. Is aware of their rights of appeal and rights in relation to seeking variation of the CTO.
This is the ward philosophy “to provide and maintain,through the multidisciplinart team process, appropriate care that supports the patient and family, through all phases of illness, giving attention to physical, emotional and social needs”
