Assessment Two Guidance
August 30, 2022Marketing Consumer Behaviour
August 30, 2022To achieve a successful project experience and outcome, you are expected to meet the following requirements.
Component 1 – Agency Representative Interview
The purpose of this interview is to gain insight into communication strategies and how they are implemented in the field. You may focus on a single aspect of health communication, such as specific campaigns and the role of culture and diversity or the current status of health information technology and data systems integration. Or, you may do a broad survey of health communication issues faced by the selected agency–if you choose this approach, address culture, diversity, and health information systems at some level.
Conduct an interview with an administrator or other representative of a health care agency. Craft your questions to elicit responses about:
- The ways in which cultural values affect access, utilization, and quality of health services in the represented community.
- Key stakeholders involved with developing and implementing public health programs, and discussion of their role in developing and sustaining collaborative partnerships.
- Available programs for health data sharing and community health information networks on the local, state, regional, or national level.
- The components of effective message development and delivery. Summarize and analyze the results of your interview in a 2-4 page, double-spaced paper. You will use this material, revising as appropriate, to inform and
support your proposal.
Component 2 – Literature Review
This literature review, you will write a paper (approximately 3-5 pages) that will analyze, synthesize, and evaluate literature that specifically addresses health information networks and data systems integration. The literature review must contain at least 15 sources, which are expected to meet academic standards: articles should be peer-reviewed and non-article material should be from reliable sources, such as government or academic sites.
Locate materials that:
- Identify and compare components of technology-based health information networks and discuss available programs for health data sharing on the local, state, regional, or national level.
- Review alternative technological approaches to data sharing and system integration.
- Address legal and ethical barriers to creating health information networks for social, behavioral, and public health information.
- Discuss the legal and ethical issues that affect data system integration between organizations that maintain personal and private health information.
The research question driving your literature review should attempt to integrate diverse populations, vulnerable populations, or marginalized populations, and communication issues associated with them; however, you may need to modify your research question and search focus. This literature review is not expected to be integrated into your proposal, though the resources you locate may be used as sources for the proposal, if you choose.
Component 3 – Culture-Centered Communication Proposal
Identify a specific health disparity, inequity, or problem for a particular population as well as social policies that have affected the issue, then create an assessment and surveillance proposal that addresses it. The proposal should include the following:
- Title page.
- Table of contents.
- Abstract.
o Limit your abstract to 3-10 sentences.
o Briefly focus on the a) problem necessitating the proposal, b) your suggested
solution, and c) the benefits derived once your proposal is implemented. - Introduction.
o Purpose: in 1-3 sentences, tell your readers the reason for your proposal. Explain
why you are writing and what you hope to achieve.
o Problem. - Discussion (the body of the proposal).
- Conclusion and recommendation.
- Reference page.
