4. identify the key structures of research articles using common approaches to generating knowledge and/or evidence

Describe the main findings (that is what the researchers found out) Describe the approach the authors used to carry out the research (For example quants’ or quals,’ secondary or primary research) Identify the implications of using this approach e.g., they used a qualitative approach (explain why the approach matters for example if they looked at data or they interviewed the participants what difference does it make?) State how this research paper or video could be used in health and social care practice (think of this from a manager or supervisor perspective, how might you use this research?)

Top tip 1 Write a plan of the points/paragraphs you want to make. No introduction or conclusion required.

Top tip 2 Remember to use the correct terminology for example, Evidence based practice, interviews, variables, participants, limitations, Cochrane institute, objective and subjective, implications, interpretation.

Top tip 3 Include the reading from the reading list and REFERENCE using Harvard referencing style. The references show you have read about the subject, good references generate good marks. For example:
Aveyard argues that evidence based practice is.. ..(2019)
Cottrell describes qualitative research as …. (2019)
Ogden states that you need to be familiar with the basic features of research to be able to understand …. (2017)
