2.1 Explain theories of how individuals interact in groups in relation to the types of teams that work in health and social care

2.2 Evaluate approaches that may be used to develop effective team working in health and social care

Task Two (a)

Context:

Using your own workplace or a chosen organisation within the sector of the health and social care you will need to write a report with a word count of a minimum of 1,500 words that first gives a brief description of the different types of teams that exist in health and social care settings.

  • Work groups
  • Multidisciplinary teams
  • Inter – agency
  • Project groups

You should then explain how at least three of the following theories relate to and potentially impact group interaction amongst staff in such settings:-

  1. Belbin
  2. Tuckman
  3. Woodcock
  4. Gross
  5. McClelland

Context:

For this task, you will need to first define the following  approaches that may be used to develop effective team working in health and social care, and then highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each approach:

  • Team purpose
  • Empowerment of team
  • Leadership
  • Individuals priorities/ roles
  • Team Morale

This piece should be a minimum of 1000 words in length.
